How We Choose
Our Methodology
How Eclat Press chooses and judges premium beauty products: listing verification, published specifications, owner themes, and verdicts without scores.

Every guide on Eclat Press is built from the same discipline. This page describes it in full, because a recommendation you cannot inspect is only an advertisement wearing better clothes.
Step one: the listing must qualify
We cover only products sold on Amazon under its Premium Beauty or Luxury Stores programmes. For each product, we open the live listing and record the signals we actually saw: the brand's own storefront, the seller and fulfilment details, and the manufacturer's identity as published. If we cannot confirm the programme status, the product does not enter the catalogue, however famous it is.
Step two: the formula is the argument
Products are compared on published specifications only: declared active ingredients and their percentages, filter types and SPF for sunscreens, oil and lipid systems for creams and hair care, format, and the size in the jar or bottle. We do not invent specifications, and where a brand does not publish a figure, we say the figure is unpublished rather than guessing.
Step three: owner themes, honestly labelled
We read owner commentary to learn what living with a product is like: texture, scent, pilling under makeup, how long a bottle lasts. What we print are recurring qualitative themes. We never convert them into ratings, percentages or counts, and we never claim hands-on testing we have not done.
Step four: verdicts as trade-offs
Every review ends with who the product fits and who should skip it, and every comparison names the rival and the concrete difference. There are no star scores on Eclat Press. A product that is wrong for one reader is the right answer for another, and a single number hides exactly the information that decides it.
Corrections and updates
Formulas change and listings move. Pages carry the date they were last checked, and we re-verify listings as part of our revision cycle. If you spot a detail that no longer matches the product as sold, write to us through the contact page and we will re-check it.
