Use less, first: a thin film outperforms a thick one. Press the serum in rather than rubbing, wait a full minute before the next layer, and pat creams and sunscreen on instead of massaging them across a fresh serum layer. This is the classic unsealed humectant effect. Apply the serum to genuinely damp skin, not merely dry skin after cleansing, and follow with moisturiser within a minute or two. Stickiness usually means too much product or a second humectant heavy layer competing with the first. Check the routine around the serum before blaming it. Over exfoliating, very hot cleansing water and skipping moisturiser all cap what a humectant can show. Restore the basics for two weeks, damp application, prompt sealing, sunscreen in the morning, and judge again.
