Head to Head
BioLumin-C Serum vs Pro-Collagen Banking Serum: Brighten Now or Preserve for Later
Dermalogica's two prestige serums compared: vitamin C, peptide and lactic acid against a collagen preservation complex, and how to choose by time horizon.

Dermalogica BioLumin-C Serum 1 fl oz
An ultra stable vitamin C serum with a peptide and an AHA doing support work

Dermalogica Pro-Collagen Banking Serum 1 fl oz
A preservation serum: bank collagen today, the house argues, for tomorrow
Where They Differ
The active story
BioLumin-C is built on an ultra stable vitamin C complex with Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 and lactic acid: brightness, the look of firmness and surface renewal in one formula. Pro-Collagen Banking is built on a Pro-Collagen Preservation Complex of Collagen Amino Acids, Carnosine Dipeptide and antioxidants, with jojoba ester and polyglutamic acid for hydration. One treats appearance, the other defends structure; the ingredient lists do not meaningfully overlap.
Texture and dosing
BioLumin-C is a dropper serum dosed at a full dropper, morning and night. Banking is a gel to serum in a pump, dosed at two to three pumps once or twice daily. The pump is easier to keep consistent and to travel with; the dropper feels more like a treatment ritual. Both need moisturizer over them.
How results show up
BioLumin-C feedback arrives as brightness and smoothness within the first weeks of consistent use, which most owners can see. Banking feedback is plumper, more luminous looking skin over a longer arc, and its core promise, preserved collagen, is by nature invisible week to week. That difference, not formula quality, is what should decide the order you buy them in.

- You prefer a pump dose and a gel to serum texture
- You are building a long term routine and judge products over months
Questions, Answered
Can I use both serums in one routine?
You can, with separation: BioLumin-C in the morning, where its antioxidant framing and brightness suit the day, and Pro-Collagen Banking at night. Layering both in the same step duplicates cost more than benefit, and Circular Hydration is the more useful second serum for most routines.
